We have a 2011 Jayco Recon and we would like to replace the U-Shaped dinette with a free standing table and chairs. It doesn't look to difficult to remove the seating section but the question I have is how do we mount the table so it doesn't move. Our dealer has the proper table and chairs we can buy but would like to save installation costs by doing the work ourselves. Thanks for any assistance.

I have a KZ with table and chairs, yes the table is screwed down, I wanted to move it and it was easy. Popped the wooden dolls that hide the screws, unscrewed moved the table, made sure it was clear underneath and screwed it back down. My chairs connect under the table with one of the leg braces fitting over a L shaped piece of wood that holds the chairs in place while traveling, very simple but effective

We replaced the dinette in our Raptor with one of the tall tables (like you see in a sports bar) and 2 stools. The table sits against the slide wall and the 2 stools are stored under the table. Nothing holds them in place. So far it's never moved. Makes for a lot more space in the camper and there are only 2 of us anyway.

My old Rockwood fifth wheel had a table and four chairs. The table had a small L bracket on each leg and was secured to the slide out floor with small wood screws. There was a strap to secure the chair legs to the table legs when you travel. Pretty simple setup. I removed the table and chairs to gain space since we never used the table anyway.

We had the freestanding table in our Cougar bumper pull. It was fastened to the floor with four wood screws that went through the table legs and into the floor.

I fastened the table to a piece of 3x3 1/8" steel and drilled four holes, one at each corner and fastened the steel to the floor. For the last year or so we haven't fastened the steel to the floor and it hasn't moved. We can push the table into the corner to get it out of the way, or pull it out for seating for four or more.

It has worked very well for us, give us a lot more room too.

Jams, I've been threatening to do this for months! Please post before and after pics. I would love to see how it turns out.

The table in my Flagstaff has center column and four legs on the bottom. The legs have hole drilled and counter drilled and ~ 2" screws hold it securely...

Just secure the chairs under the table with bungee cords. The table isn't normally fastened down.

We had a table in our Raptor, it appeared to be screwed down the the floor. My guess is that with the side extended you can run a bolt through the leg of the table and through the slide out floor. I'd think there is enough room for a fender washer and nut to secure the table. However you'll need to explore your setup Our chairs had a simple hook located on either side of the chairs that had a strap that hooked in place and was then tightened by pulling on the strap. Worked fine, unless we forgot to secure the chairs. 😉
