Replacing carpet with Tile?

We have a 2006 with 4 slides. We want to replace the carpeting on the main floor (not inside the slides) with snap-in tile (no tools or material needed). We were told by the mfg. that we couldn't do that, something about the slides needed carpet to come in on. Is there any truth to this? Has anybody changed to floor tile in front of the slides?

We got a good deal on the tiles and would like to put it down next week. It is simulated hardwood flooring, skid resistant. The carpeting is so worn and thin that the new tile would almost be the same thickness.

Thanks in advance.

How would the manufacturer know it's a problem? They only built the unit.

I started with nothing and I still have most of it left

I never fail, I just succeed in finding out what doesn't work

If by tile you mean laminate flooring, I did that with my trailer last year.....It works fine. Either the slide has a roller or is suspended above the flooring, so I cant see how that is a factor.

Our slide comes in on linoleum. Carpet is only on the slide.
