Roof leak

I have a 2014 Keystone Alpine 3600 RS. Recently there has been an intermittent leak just below my rear AC Unit at the center of the ceiling by the first seam. No water at the return vents. No water at the edge of the ceiling where the wall meets. Only at the center. We are suspecting the AC unit because it seems occurs when it runs.

There are times when it just pours rain outside and no leaks. Sometimes the amount of water is minimal, We only had one time where we had to place plastic totes along the floor, but the leaking stopped. The rain continued for two days and no leaks. Last night we had the Heat pump running and we had a small leak. Stopped. Rain continued. Later we had a few small drops after the heat pump stopped. Heat pump has been off for the last 12 hours. Raining, and no leaks.

Any ideas?
  • Lots of water comes off the roof when moisture comes out of A/C. Some RVs discharge the water through a tube so it doesn't run off the side.
  • Have you tried tightening the four bolts that hold the A/C to the roof? Pull of the interior trim and you will see the bolts. Be sure to not over tighten them and damage the seal. Also, make sure your condensate drain is not blocked.
  • I would take it in to a RV service centre and have them check out the AC. Sounds like the gasket or the drain pan. AC are pretty heavy so if it was me, I would have someone else do the job. JMHO

Did you check the pan. Be sure it is clean. I recently had a leak problem, but it happened in heavy rain when the A/C was running. Tightened the motor and leak stopped. There is a gasket under the motor shaft. But yours sounds like the pan. If your model has a tube that comes out of the pan, check it to be sure it is not blocked.
