- Davidlatham2012ExplorerI saw this problem before and it had a cut wire on top of gauge at fuel sensor on actual tank itself. you can test gauge by grounding it out to self.

- 64thunderboltExplorer IIis there a rocker switch beside the gauge? If so just use it. Most have them as the gauge is a draw without the momentary switch.

64thunderbolt - thank you for your response....you had the correct answer! Unfortunately we had left before you posted and just returned and I found your post!
My dealer said it was a faulty switch or bad ground....had it in for warranty work and the service tech informed me of the "switch" - the TH is new to us so we had questions that a manual does not answer!
