RV Show Question

Ok Folks, I come to you again.

Is there such a thing as an industry wide RV Show? I mean like the automobile manufactures have. Somewhere that all the different product lines gather at one show location to display the units and new trends.

I have driven hundreds of miles to attend “RV Shows” to simply find it’s the product line of a single dealer. Is there a way of determining in advance if the “Show” is a sales pitch or an actual full range show? I guess I could just watch the ads more closely for hints.

If anyone knows of actual shows that re-occur on the West Coast and their dates I’d appreciate hearing from you.

Hap
  • Thanks everyone for the response. I can always count on you for help.

I am aware of the Pomona, Ca. show but didn’t know the dates.

I was hoping to find several shows like Pomona around the west coast to visit but all I can find in Reno, Sacramento, San Jose, and the Bay Area are dealer shows. So I’ll wait for Pomona to shop again.

Take Care and enjoy those toys,

  • Many make and models are only available in certain regions; due primarily to the location of factories and the cost per mile for transport.

For instance, Eclipse toy haulers are rarely sold east of the Mississippi because the factory is located in southern CA. Forest River Work & Plays are sold primarily in the mid-west due to the factory being located in Indiana(?).

Curious, do these trade shows typically show what's available nation-wide or in that specific region?
  • This coming weekend the NC Dealers Assoc. Show in Greensboro NC
  • We have a show in Dallas twice a year where the dealers come to the show with all different types of campers.

  • Closest one to you Hap is in October in Pomona. It's the grandaddy of R.V. shows for So. Cal. I under stand the Hershey show in PA is the grandaddy of them all but I don't think you want to fly to PA to look at RV's. We went last year, in fact took a Bishop couple with us, you met Steve at my camp when you stopped by last summer.
  • In Salt Lake City a couple of times a year, there is a pretty big show with all of the local dealers, and all of them have manufacturers reps there for the various brands they sell. At that one you get to see and compare things with only a little walking.

I haven't found the same thing in Las Vegas yet - just individual dealer "shows" at the various casinos/arenas. They have manufaturer reps, but you have to go from place to place to do any comparisons.
