Smart move IMHO! I have owned two sets go GY "G" tires with many thousands of miles not even a flat. Both sets were dated in 07, prior to that time they did have some problems but since have been VERY trouble free. If you do have a problem GY WILL pay for damages and a new tire. Not another out there will do the same.
Last two sets of GY's have been the "H" model and also ZERO problems. I am so confident in them I don't have a TPMS. The way I look at buying the best in this example you only paid $600 for your tires the $1,000 was a given. That philosophy has served me well.
