- donn0128Explorer IIInspect them. Leaking? Time to change them. No leaks, leave em.
- larry_barnhartExplorerI changed our 2001 alpenlite shocks during the summer. Big difference on the push and pull from old to new. No leaks. I just felt it was time for a change.

Checked mine while installing the Correct Track, way easier to push pull then when installed. Got new Monroe’s much more resistance the the ones installed. - Denny___JamiExplorerThe only way to truly check them is remove one end move them in and out and check for resistance. If you have gas charged units you won't see leakage so even on a vehicle you have to remove them to really see if they are really working, if you go that far just replace them. Monroe Gas Magnums work really good on a trailer, that's what I'm using.
Denny - Bob_VaughnExplorerI wonder how many miles shocks on a 5th wheel are good for?
- buc1980ExplorerDepends of the miles and time .If you get 10 years out of them that perfect.
- filrupmarkExplorerI ran the Monroe gas magnums but two of them leaked oil after a few years. I now have KYB KG5514 mono tube gas shocks. I prefer the KYB's .
- B_O__PlentyExplorer IIThe shocks on a Heartland product are mounted at almost a horizontal angle. Questionable if they do any good at all. All of mine were bent when I had a Heartland. I don't think they did anything.
