Slide out awning size recommendation

I'm looking at buying a Solara slide out awning for my wardrobe slide which measures 59" wide at its widest.

I'm debating whether to go 5' 6", their smallest, or 6' wide.

According to the sizing chart 5 1/2' is what they suggest. But many people have said their measuring the entire width not the fabric so it just barely covers the slide out. Thats why I'm thinking to bump it up one size.

Has anyone sized out an an awning and found that tend to run small.

Thanks

Ron W.
  • 66" Solara slide topper offered by etrailer: Look Here

They suggest 5" wider (2 1/2" on each side of slideout box) than your slideout box so the 5.5' topper should fit nicely.
  • Now that you mention it, makes me wonder too. However, I'd be hard pressed to see a 5' 6" awning. I'm still assuming its a slide cover.

I'd go with what they suggest. At 6', that's a full 6" on either side and may be too wide, and the track that the slide cover goes into may not be that wide either. the other thing to consider is that the roller tubes and supports would be 6" further out, and the arms that attach to the slide may not reach?

    X2.
