I installed my own slide topper. It is really not that difficult of a job. There are some videos online on how to do it. You may want to watch one to see if you are comfortable with doing it. If you do decide to try it yourself, take your time. Make sure all the screw holes are well sealed and make sure you have help. You need at least one helper, however I would recommend yourself and two other people. The reason is that while two of you are on ladders installing the slide topper the other person can be running to get you tools/parts that may have either forgotten or dropped when on the ladders.

Pay to have it done. Money well spent.

You need two people, not because it's hard work, but because one person can't stand at both ends of the awning.
Both have to do a lot of climbing and balancing on ladders.
Good thing to hire out.

Don't see how one person can do it. I'd be concerned about finding studs to attach the brackets. If you can afford it have it done by pros.

Some things I'll do and some things I'll pay for. I paid to have our slide toppers installed and don't regret a penny of it.

I installed the wet bolt kit and EZ Flex suspension kit, but had the slide toppers done by someone who had experience with it.

It's a big job...needs more than one person. Really helps to have a scaffold (that's what they used to install our 2).

I am handy, wanted to do it myself, wife talked me out of it and I'm glad I did...after watching the shop do it.
