slide toppers

Happens to us. We used to care. Don't even give it a moments worry anymore.

I tried the beach ball and rope thing. It worked, but when I realized the water that pools doesn't hurt anything, plus the beach balls were a real pain, we stopped doing anything. We just watch out when sliding them in. Hasn't been an issue.

I don't worry about water however, snow is an issue that needs to be dealt with. If there is enough snow, it won't roll off- it actually compacts and prevents the slide from coming in. FYI - rubber roofs are REALLY slippery with snow on them. I thought I was going to fall off the roof and die that day.

Our neighbors at the park we are at have a rope with 1gal milk jugs tied to it about every foot or so. They have extra length on the ends and will pull the milk jugs under their large awning topper and I can see it works. When they leave they can remove it from the ground by just pulling the rope.

Even though I thought it a little ingenious, I don't see myself doing it to my slides even though they all pool water.

Pretty much, only our large slide pools. I look at this as an opportunity to clean my slide topper. I go up on the roof with a broom, and scrub the topper, then brush the water off. All clean.

I just raise the rear stabiyand and then raise the front end. If your lucky you can ask your kids or wife to stand at the back of the slide and make sure nothing hits when you raise the front. Just be prepared to get yelled at, but it's fun watching them vet soaked.

i use the beach ball on the end by the door so we don't get the "dump". right at the edge very little air in it. just enough to keep the water from coming that way. easy reach while standing in doorway. we don't worry about the others holding.

Ditto on the water pooling.
Like most we simply bring the slider in.
Most times you don't have to completely close it before all the water comes out.
No biggy...

I have also read about the beach ball approach but wonder I) pooling mostly happens on my longer topper II) would fishing the beach ball be a challenge in itself?

We don't do anything. The water rolls off when we bring in the slide.

The water on mine will eventually dump off if enough wind comes up to billow it a little. I have a friend who made a gadget out of pvc pipe to side in between the top and the topper.

For one of my units, I used a clean paint roller on an extended paint roller pole and just walked along the side and the water came off the end I was walking toward. This slide is too high for me to do that, so it either comes off by itself or if I am ready to leave, I just bring it in a little at a time and it dumps itself.
