small leak

yesterday we had several inches is blowing rain. i went out last night after work to inspect my new to me 2003 cardinal and everything looked good except around the exhaust vent in the toilet room there was a small amount around the vent and a couple of drops on the floor. did not look like it had ever leak there before. what type of sealant should i use around the vent. i inspected around everything when i bought it and did not notice any problem areas

MaxxAir covers on all 4 vents since new here. LOVE 'em.

Not sure if you have one installed but this would be a good time for a MaxxAir cover once the leak is fixed. No such thing as a small leak in an RV.

I Eternabonded mine and then did the MaxxAir cover. Nice to be able to leave the vent open.

Use this to seal around the vent. Go on the roof, clean and inspect the old caulking, then remove what ever comes off easily (peels off with fingers, or scrapes off with plastic putty knife), and install new caulking.

Checking and raplacing caulking is routine maintenance. Maybe, it never leaked before. Maybe, it's been an ongoing issue. Doesn't matter, this won't be your only time caulking.

Use self leveling on the roof, and non leveling around doors and windows, etc.

I strongly suggest havingtheRV pressure tested for leaks and resealed. If you found one leak there is probley more. Best to catchnow not be surprised later.

If you mean the 14" vent, it could be that the seal around the top lip of the vent needs replacing. When these seals get brittle and distorted from the sun, they can leak air, or blowing hard rain.
