Smaller fifth wheels no longer made??

Recently my wife has been wanting to down size our camper. We currently have a 28 foot fiver. We took a trip to our local dealer and all they had was travel trailers. Went online to look at a couple other dealers and all the fivers were 31 foot and up. Any shorter units were used. Are smaller fivers a thing of the past?

Have you looked here? Looks like the shortest is 24 ft and it has 5 slides.

These don't have 5 slides, most shorter towables won't offer 5 slides. But I found some that meet your length requirements:

2003 Eagle
2005 Springdale

But if you're going for new units: Check out the manufacturer website for best comparisons!

Where did OP say anything about 5 slides:h

To the OP, as stated, they're out there, you'll just have to do the research.

Except the smallest rig they now make is the 27-5L, which is over 30 ft.

Yes, they -used- to build a 19, a 21, a 23, a 24, a 25 and a 26 "ft" fiver, but don't any more. We owned a 24-5N for over a decade.

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

They are out there, but you do have to search for them.

Here is one

but I have to wonder what her reasoning is. Our first, an old Vanguard 18 1/2', was too small. The only seating was the dinette and the bathroom didn't allow enough room to change our minds. Our current one, an older 25 1/2' Prowler, is better but lacks storage and one of us must sit down to allow the other to move. We consider it bare minimum for more than a week at a time.

Are you looking new? They are still made, just not many of them. Keystone has some 5ers under 30' and even a few under 25'. Forest River and Jayco also have a (very) few under 30'. And some of the lesser known brands also. Check the Keystone web site and look at some of their lower level trailers to see the floor plans. These will not be the "luxury" models.
