Stripping paint.

Here's a couple pics of the decals and a general condition of the paint.

Maybe there are some clearcoat options you could use. But also look close at the workmanship before you get to committed to the idea. Any lack of quality will show up "brightly"

Like corvettekent stated the decals come off more easy than you think. I used my wife's blow-dryer, and a plastic putty knife not to dig into the walls, you can also use plastic razor blades, I found them on e-bay, after removing the decals washed all the siding with Murphy's Oil Soap it can be found at Walmart etc. it cleans the rig really well and does not mess up the jelcoat. It's aluminum. I definitely don't want a monotone paint job. We'll probably figure something out. These decals have been baked on for over 20 years. Should be fun!

Based on the few mono-color paint jobs I've seen you need at least a two-tone paint scheme and/or decals. Those mono things looked pretty bad in my opinion.

Is your trailer aluminum or fiberglass? The decals will come off easy with a heat gun.
