Temporary Clothes Hanging Rod?

Over the past few years, the wife has grown fond of removing clothes from the laundry dryer half dried, then hanging on wire hangers to finish air drying.(less wrinkles and no ironing)This is a problem while traveling cause there is no rod. Just wondering what the "rest of the world" is doing. Need some kind of temporary rod.
  • i have a piece of 1" plastic conduit in my shower to hang wet clothes on... out of sight ... works great :B
  • I carry 2 pieces of 2 x 2 that fit across the top of the shower. She will use 1 or both depending on the number of hangers. Staggering them if both. A hanger will fit over a 2 x 2 and it won't roll around when in place.
  • My wife uses a wooden fold up rack type deal at home. She bought a smaller one for the 5er that fits under the couch. We try to do laundry on the nicer days in the am so while we are out the stuff is drying.
  • we hang ours off one of the cabinets over the small couch. the doors flip up and the plastic hangers fit perfectly on the lower frame of the cabinet. flip the door down and they stay in place.
  • We use an expandable shower rod that we put in the shower cross-wise. I've seen some clever racks that attach to the outside ladder also.
  • Something I did in our Class C, and I plan to add in the 5er: I put up an 8' closet rod right near the ceiling in the bedroom - and use it to hang wet towels and clothes. there's just enough air circulating while going down the road, to dry things. Hanging them in the shower doesn't work as well?
  • Think out of the box. Two hooks in opposing walls (bedroom, perhaps) and a lightweight plastic chain. Remove chain when not in use.

  • I use a couple of short pieces of 3/4" pvc pipe in the shower for wet clothes. As for the clothes partly dry....I leave them in the dryer till they are dry and use the wrinkle-free setting.
