Tire manufature locations.

Bought Denman several years ago because they were thought by many to be good tires. Two blowouts and 1 tread separation on those Mexico made tires. I believe Denman is no more.

To ANSWER your question, the only experience I have had with Mexican made tires is with the POS General Ameritrack tires that came on my 11 Ram Dually. At 25K they were more than 2/3 gone. One tire actually developed a big 6" bump on the tread. I said screw this and bought a set of 6 Michelin M/S2 at Discount Tire and after 5K they show no signs of abnormal wear like the POS Generals did in 5K.

So there is your answer! Buy quality US Made tires and you will not regret it. For me it's Michelin's on my TV's ad GY's on my RV's.

When that name changes every couple years like many of mass marketed cheapies from Tredit and Tireco run and hide.

Systems like ISO9000 and TS16949 are internationally recognized quality systems that work to insure that not only is the plant producing quality products, but that it will continue to do so and improve.

So since no one has voiced any negatives, I take it that there is no recognition of problems with tires made in Mexico.

Further, I would say that the name on the sidewall of the tire is much more of an indicator.

You know that I'm in agreement with you on this facet of the question. But I'm still trying to figure out who the OP is asking about and let that get ahead of me...When I mentioned the ISO and TSO standards that the Sailun Tire manufacturer has obtained, I still got shot down by some as to "it's still a China made tire"..after while, one will give up after giving links to and explaining ISO and TS standards and what it takes to obtain, as my manufacturing plant has done, along with Q1 from Ford, (which is also very hard for a manufacturer to attain....and keep).

Also agree that manufacturer name on sidewall should have some impact on credentials or reputation, though, depending on one's experience with a particular "name brand", could still have a bad impression of them even with credentials to back their manufacturing process, quality being at the top of the list. (only after safety in the plant:)

My company, as some may know is Continental Automotive, not only do we manufacture brake calipers, ABS, ESC and brake by wire along with a multitude of other things, as stated in thread above, we also manufacture General and Continental tires, and I do know what quality standards and guidelines are in place for these manufacturers, no matter what country they are located in..

I've had the General Grabber AT-II's on my TV for the past three years and over 40K miles. General Tire is owned by Continental, a German tire company, however my tires were made in North Carolina. I will soon be ready to replace them and will again go with the General's. FYI: I use Maxis tires on my "fiver".

How were we supposed to read it?...YOU stated, "time to replace 5er tires, "I" used General Grabber "E: for 7 years with no problems..THEN you add, "it's these or Firestone Transformers, the other options are too costly for "MY" budget...again, how were we supposed to comprehend what you wrote any other way?

So MOST would read that as you're telling us YOU used these tires on YOUR 5er for 7 years....are they any good? How else were we supposed to comprehend it? It's the way you wrote it.

As also noted, the 5er in the picture has 7,000# rated axles and a GVW of just 500# less than MY 5er...That 5er needs, at the least, "G" rated tire, (they handle 3750# per tire)...

I'd look at a Sailun "G" rated tire, might work for you, it's cheaper oh, or for whomever you're asking about..I guess:R

A 16,400# GVW 5er with a 2500, I'm impressed...
