Tonneau cover use with a vented 5er tailgate??

I had a tonneau cover with a vented gate for almost 10 years. In the off season the regular Tgate was put back on. I never, ever saw the tonneau cover balloon while driving. I have a tonneau cover on the truck I have now but don't use a vented gate because it's too much of a problem to take the present gate off(Rear view camera). If, when driving with a tonneau cover on, you look out the rear view mirror, you will notice that the air moving over the cab will push down on top of the cover. The cover prevents pine needles, leafs etc from getting into the box when parked in that environment. IMHO, get one.

I have a tonneau pro and vented 5er tail gate that I leave on all summer. No issues, I don't see any ballooning at all. Only issue is dust in the bed from dirt road driving.

I look at it differently. The tailgate may be open but the cover still protects the hitch , toolbox and anything else in the bed from the elements.JMO

Seems the fifth wheel tailgate would somewhat defeat the purpose of the cover, out of sight out of mind.

I have a retrax, and a open tail gate. I also had a snap on cover made for the tail gate that I put on just so people cannot see what is in the bed..

X2. I have had an Extang rollup tonneau on two trucks for 8 years without any issues. The OP should look at a different brand cover since Truxedo is discouraging his purchase.

I have an Extang tri-fold and use it with both solid tailgate and my vented cut out tailgate. No problem either way. Happy Camping and have safe and Merry Christmas.

13 yrs, 300213 miles with my Pace Edwards and V gate. No problems in any position while driving.

this is what I received from the mfg:

I would not recommend using the Lo Pro with that Tailgate.
This could cause too much wind to get under the vinyl and could cause that cover to come unlatched.
I will see if my engineers have any other options for this.
