Trailair Hitch

Is it possible to add air to the hitch without the 5th wheel being loaded on the truck? Or is it necessary for the air bag to have the weight on it before3 air is added?

I found out it is easier to add air to our airhitch and then lower the pressure to get the correct height it needs. Saves doing more air and time when you want to hit the road. Just my way of course.

I agree, I put mine at 100psi then adjust after hitching.

I found an extension that I had received for my Fifth Airborne that was not used . .
Just fabed up an aluminum mount and all good to go !
I find for my set up , I like to air up if needed after I am hitched... And it makes it easier to add air if need be while on the road .

Mine doesn't change that much that I've noticed. 85 PSIG puts it on the line on the shock every time.

X2! I do the same. It always varies a little depending on my trailer is loaded.

Yep, I changed out the straight Schrader valve for an ell as well.

I changed out my valve location for ease of airing the bag.

I routinely air up the air bag in the TrailAir hitch before hitching up. No problem at all - the shock limits travel.
