Tredit Tire Sux

Is anyone having their aluminum rims from Tredit Tire corrode? These are only 4 years old. I called Tredit and they said that the warranty is only 1 year. I should have known better that buy from them because on my first Suite a wheel came apart and they wouldn't replace all the wheels because they 'weren't part of the recall'. I bought these because again the weld failed on one of the steel wheels on my current Suite and Tredit would not replace it because I wasn't the original owner.

Anyone know what to do about the corrosion? I have tried Turtle aluminum rim polish, McGuires rubbing compound, Mothers rim cleaner and a wire wheel. Nothing really did much.

This is why I spent the extra and bought US Made Alcoa 17.5" wheels when I did the 16" to 17.5" upgrade!

LOL, good one. Just shows anybody can find a mission statement that sounds great but it means nothing in the end if they don't live up to it. I have never been a fan of aluminum wheels. I have read of failures and cracking more often than you would think something like that would happen. I have no idea if they were all Tredit wheels or not.

  • Are the wheels coated or polished aluminum? If coated then the coating must be removed and then the wheel is to polished to remove the corrosion. If bare polished aluminum then Mother's aluminum cleaner and a Power Ball is the way to go.
