Any of you have experience with either ?

Also how do you best optimize your storage in the truck bed ?

Highway Products tool boxes are top cabin! You will not find better quality, you "WILL" pay for that quality!

I lucked out found mine for $300 on CL. Used in 98, 11 and now 15 RAM.

Regarding MountainMaster, does anyone else get a malware warning from their site? I've not logged on there for at least 2 years, since I started getting these messages. 3 different devices, 2 different AV apps =and= my ASUS router all get warnings. Just sayin'...

Yes, just got it--to my surprise. Wonder what's going on?

I have the same type of storage boxes pictured in my Truck (different brand)
Had them for years, love them for tools and equipment access.
The shorter box in the back clears the 5th Wheel pin by only a few inches (and yes I have scrubbed it a couple of times) but works great.
I had them in my 2012 GMC 3500 DRW and recently moved them to our 2018 RAM 3500 DRW.

Just talked to one of the guys from MM, who's at Quartzite, and he said that they get about 1 in 10-15 people trying to log in that have this issue. Problem is that their site is almost 20 years old and has never been updated on the back end, so it's either got code that's vulnerable to exploits or it's actually been hacked and is spreading malware. Personally, I think it's the former. FWIW, I have Avast on my home Win7 Pro 64 laptop (Firefox) as well as my Android phone (Chrome). Both block me. When I added an exception to Avast on my laptop, my ASUS =router= blocked me. My dad has AVG (paid) on his Win7 Pro 64 desktop (Firefox), and I'm blocked there, too. All I can say is that MM must be doing pretty well if they can afford to ignore 8-10% of the people who are trying to access their site. (shrug)

Its Denali 3500HD dually, for a weight i should be ok (little over 9k# on rear axle). But this is more generic question in sense if its worth to invest in to these, or even have one with generator permanently on the bed.

For several years I sold products at RV shows in Southern California and Q. Each year I spent time with the sales folks at Highway Products & Mountain Master booths. Both companies have well built units.

Unfortunately my current truck came with a Zip DEE unit which works fine for what I need. Otherwise, I would have ordered the units from Mountain Master only because I became better acquainted with one of the salesmen. Their generator box really dampens the sound and provides a secure spot for a portable generator.

For my first truck to tow a fifth wheel, I built a large storage box out of exterior plywood painted to protect from elements. The lid mounted to the front of the pickup bed with a long piano hinge. It was constructed using 1X2 for the frame with a 1/2" plywood insert. The lid was wide enough to rest on the pickup bed rails and I used a foam gasket to prevnt rain from getting into the storage. I created a plywood wall that fit just in front of the 5th wheel hitch. This created a storage area that encompassed the area from the front of the pickup bed to the wall I created and from side to side. Big enough to hold my generator, gas can and tool box plus other RV accessories.

I use a hard roll type lockable tonneau cover. I can pull it back to the hitch to cover anything in the front of the bed when towing. Or pull it all the way back when not towing. Anything in the rear of the bed when towing is hidden by the 5er overhang.
