Used 2017 Sandpiper 372 LOK

Looking at one of these near me advertised for 42900. They have a new one on the lot for 46900. What should this thing go for since it's used? I'm sure the dealer will be of the mindset of "it's practically new" but I don't play those games. How far down into the 30s should this thing go for? I feel sorry for the poor SOB that traded it in after 6mos as I'm sure he got raked over the coals pretty good. Forest River's warranty isn't transferable is it? I know a couple have started to allow that.
  • They have 3 new ones sitting on the lot for 46k. They really want me to buy one of the new ones... I was actively steered away from the used one. I actually like the used one better because it already has slide toppers on it and none of the new ones do.
  • I think you need to find out the MSRP of the new one, take 25% off of that to get a real world selling price. The used one should be at least 5 grand under that price. I'd bet the seller didn't get more than $33000 from the dealer when he sold or traded it in.
  • After already knocking off 4 grand from the new one I don't see them going much further. That's a very popular floor plan and one of the few that offer an outside kitchen. It won't sit there long in my opinion. Good luck and let us know.
  • If you do buy it, make sure they offer a warranty with it. I'm assuming the hat from a dealer they would give one but it may be 3rd party. From what I recall, most new rv factory warranties only apply to the original owner and are not transferable.
  • The second bedroom would be for the kids. One in the loft and one in the room. Then they can use it as a play room and I might actually get to watch some tv of my choosing instead of kids shows..... Only area that shows use is the couch. The rest of it looks brand new..... So the million dollar question is.... What to offer for this thing?

Dealer give any reason why it was returned after 6 months, and how much was it used in 6 months??
My guess would be somewhere nearby there is a 2016 or 2017 TV likely a real nice Diesel Dually with very low mileage for sale also. :)

Likely one of those that decided that never RVed in their life, sold the house and bought both new and was going to travel the country.

Then after a couple trips, (if that) they discover this is NOT the life for them, or they are very uncomfortable driving a rig that size after commuting the last several years in their Prius! :S

Interesting floor plan never seen an 5er with a Mother in-law apartment!

Could have been enough time with the mother in law.....
  • Could be a health or domestic problem. Have seen where one partner makes a purchase which doesn't set well with the other. May be that towing scared the heck out of the purchaser or a hundred other scenarios.
