Ok we bought a 2018 AF 27-5 and are leaving in August and I can't figure out how i am going to run my resmed Cpap while boondocking any ideas. I have several USB ports near the head board are there a adapter I can buy? Would appreciate any ideas thanks.

I guess it depends on how long you will be boondocking. As others have said just dont use the heated hose and humidifier. You can also buy an external battery pack like Jackery to plug into that should be good for a few days

Jackerys and their cousins are expensive and may have their place but IMO your money is better spent on an adequate RV solar system and Lithium batteries. Also consider the recharging time a 100 water portable solar panel takes to recharge the Jackery and that youโ€™ll need to be in camp so the Jackery doesnโ€™t walk away.

Go to cpap.com search for resmed 12v cable in the search box, find the one for your machine. You will need a 12v socket added to the trailer to use the cpap machine on 12v.

Running it off 12 volts is more efficient than using an inverter.

Not more efficient, but definitely more affordable.

I put in a receptacle for 120vac and a 12/2 12vdc circuit with a lighter receptacle for the adapter for whenever Iโ€™m boondocking. Both are on the proper CBs.

This.

Hubby has a CPAP. It runs off our inverter (4 bank of batteries charged by two solar panels), but we also purchased a Jackery and solar panels as a backup. The portable power station suggested by the CPAP specialist was more expensive and they said the Jackery will work. With no heat and no use of the humidifier, hubby can run almost two weeks without a charge on it. As you can see, he uses it instead of off our inverter.

Modern inverters are not wasteful. Correct battery sizing makes the inverter โ€œlossโ€ completely manageable.

There are several possibilities depending on your circumstances. If you are connected to shore power you just have to find a plug convenient to your bed.

In my case I purchased the DC power adapter. I had a 12V "cigarette type" plug installed in the bedroom with direct 12V from the batteries. This allows me to bypass the inverter and save significant energy overnight. I also use this same power source when we are "hooked up" -- no reason not to.

Solar panels, Lithium batteries, MPPT controller, small PSW inverter and youโ€™ll be set. Start with an energy survey to determine your battery needs. Be liberal too!

In order to have 120 VAC power when boondocking, you will need an inverter (not converter) and a battery bank large enough to supply your needs.

You will need to add up your loads and see how much energy you will need to store in the batteries.

Plus for boondocking you need to understanding your energy needs, battery capacity and how the batteries will be recharged.

One option is to camp with power but leave the main CB off and see how long the batteries last. Hopefully at least one night. Do you have solar or a gen?

My wife's CPAP is a Phillips Dream Station 2. Its power requirements are 12V, 6.7A. The included 120V power supply is a 12V DC transformer which she uses at times when we are on shore power. We have a Phillips supplied adapter that we plug into 12V in the trailer so it runs off the trailer's battery when needed.

When going on a houseboat trip, I will pull our 100 amp hour lithium battery and take it with us along with the trailer's convertor to charge the battery after 2 night's use. Works great and is reliable. Can recharge in 2 hours off the boat's generator.

Go to the manufacturer of your C-Pap and see what options they offer for 12 volt power. You may need to carry a seper3te 12 volt battery to power it.
