Well that's a new read for me. They tell you do NOT have an option on an RV and it turns out you DO! :B
>>There should be a sticker on the wall of the wardrobe closet that shows what options are on the RV along with specs.
Never trust any salesman they know nothing and always lie to cover up their ignorance. :W
I'd definitely go back and tell the 'General Manager' of the store you bought it at and do your part at getting these dumb salespeople off the floors of RV dealerships!
This guy wasn't a salesman, he was the guy whose job it was specifically to inspect the RV and walk the customer through everything. $395 bought me an idiot.
Maybe but I can tell you that your floorplan does not usually have a separate galley gray tank. Normally you find that in a rear kitchen model but not a mid kitchen. Obviously yours does but having been in the RV business for 16 years and using RV's all my life, it would not have surprised me to see your trailer have a spot for a galley gray tank on the monitor panel but not actually have the tank, especially on a 2004 model Motana
My Puma is a mid kitchen, and I have a separate galley tank. Be careful with generalizing statements.
Our Bighorn is a mid kitchen too with its own gray tank.

Obviously your 16 years of experience (or 1 year repeated 16 times) hasn't ever involved a Montana. Every Montana since 1999 has two grey tanks. All of them! The galley grey tank release handle has been located along the frame on the drivers side until recently on *SOME* models. Montana finally saw fit to move all the handles of the new models with 2 black tanks and 2 grey tanks into the convenience center. The rest of the models with 1 black and 2 greys still have the galley handle somewhere along the frame.

Lesson one:
Welcome to the wonderful world of dealer ignorance!
Lesson two:
Never again pay a dealer for inspection or pre-delivery familiarization with a trailer. That is part of their cost of doing business and should NEVER be an add-on!

Many dealers are worthless in terms of practical use of a RV. Since you are new to 5th wheels and Montanas, I highly recommend you join the Montana Owners Club (MOC). This is a free to join, non-vendor owned source of information for all things Montana. All you need to to do is select a userid/password and you have access to over 15,000+ other owners and their collective experiences going back to around 2000.
With a 2004 Montana you are going to need some assistance that the dealers can provide when things go wrong. You have now found the mysterious third grey tank handle. Other common but frustrating problems are "slides stopping when opening or closing", "toilet bowl won't hold water" and "decals are peeling". All of these issues, and may more, can be answered there.

If it is a cable release I would look to see how much extra cable there is, you might be able to move to one end or the other of the slide.

Thanks Carl n Susan...we were posting at about the same time, but you were spot on too. It was just between the 2 tires.
What's killing me is that it's one thing to not know if you are a beginner like myself. It's entirely another if your dealership sells thousands of units a year and doesn't know. lol
