Water from a/c air return

We are at a campground running our air conditioners. Our 5th wheel is 5 years old. This morning we had water coming out of one of the air returns for our living area a/c. It has never done this before. Does anyone know what could be causing it and how could I fix it myself. I wonder if the drain from the a/c is stopped up? Would that cause water to back up into the air return duct? Any help would be appreciated.
  • Wondering if air pressure in reverse would work rather than water. OURS NORMALLY DRAINS IN THE WHEEL WELLS. WOULD APPLYING AIR PRESSURE THERE open the drain.
  • I have used a long zip-tie to clean out the drain holes in the tray under the a/c on the roof... or shoot some water in there from a hose.

Also, have found the 4 bolts which hold the a/c to the frame on the inside sometimes loosen up. But, usually the drain holes do it.
  • YES....clogged drip tray drain holes will allow condensate to overflow from evap coil drip tray...that then goes inside the RV via Return Air

    To clean drain holes....
    Remove roof shroud
Then open up the sealed compartment where Evap Coil is
Under the Evap Coil is drip tray...drain holes at each end.
