You really should have found out WHAT they did. :S
Sequence about opening/closing of valves means absolutely nothing.
They are just 1/4 turn valves. Either they are open or they are closed.
I agree 100%. I made a stupid mistake by not checking the location of the valves when we first got The Beast. I had no hot water and called a mobile tech service. Luckily he was in the park already doing a repair. This guy walks over, turns the water heater bypass valve to 'off' and collects $20. Ugghhh. I felt like an ass. Yes, an expensive lesson, but one I'll not easily forget. So, consider yourself fortunate portliz, but as stated already...TAKE A PHOTO.
