RAM diesels are now using Urea in 2013 model year. Urea is used as a supplement system so to be less dependent on EGR's. And as such increase fuel mileage, and reliability on the engine and exhaust system. My Ford 6.7 diesel has 13,000 miles. You can rub your finger on the inside of the tail pipe and get very little residue on the finger. A little dust is all. The tail pipe blows NO black smoke ever. And you can stand right next to it while running, and not smell any diesel exhaust.
Urea tanks are sized to be filled at or near oil change schedules. But if you are towing or heavy footed, filling the urea tank between oil changes is very common. And it seems that with the computer monitoring when oil changes are needed, large oil change intervals are scheduled. So you must plan on replacing urea before oil change intervals. Urea cost very little per mile. The benefits are worthwhile.
For the OP...I have a tri-fold tonneau. Mine is made out of convertible top material with vinyl underneath. Looks terrific. I remove the tonneau when towing the 5'r. And replace it when not towing. Removes and installs in less than 5 minutes. With my pinbox, I cannot have any tonneau that has a frame that sit on or inside the bed rails. Because when I turn the back of the pinbox will tear up the frame. Besides, I would rather remove it for towing. Easier to hitch without it. And I don't want to have to worry about it interfering with anything while towing.
