What do I wax with ?

I know most of you have new fibreglass 5er's and wax with car wax etc. Mine is an older 1997 model with panel siding and wondered what you guys use on these to wax and protect it.

Here is a pic

  • I've tried lots of different brands of waxes since my first truck camper in the '60's but I keep going back to Meguiars cleaner wax liquid on my RVs/blue tractor/trucks/cars/boats/grasshopper/skies/etc.
  • Because of the ease of use, I recommend Protect All. It is a carnuba wax based product, but so easy to wipe on and wipe off.
  • When we had our 2002 Dutchmen TT, which had the metal siding, I used Mothers Paste wax that contains Carnauba. Had really good results. I also used the RV Wash and Wax between waxing's. Camper looked brand new when we traded it for our previous 5er in 2008. Tim
  • Nufinish or aerospace 303...nufinish lasts longer but its not good on decals and some trim pieces. Aerospace 303 works great but you should prob apply to everything, wheels and all, a few times a year. That said its easier to apply and it works great on decals too.
  • Mainly used Turtle Wax (paste type) or Nufinish. Kept that unit for 5 years and it looked great when I traded it. I live in FL so sun was rough on it.
  • After washing with a quality detergent to remove as much oxidation, black streaks, etc, I have always had good results with Nufinish. It goes on and comes off easy.
As long as your finish is till good, Nufinish is what I recommend.
