Now I can understand the dealer not checking the air filter for that but when I got the oil change, they obviously did not check the air filter.....it was really dirty.
Had a friend have a similar issue with a pack rat and his Subaru, down in Rio Rico, AZ. Not only did they drag a bunch of junk into the intake, they chewed up his under-hood insulation and peed in the cabin air intake. That'll teach him not to leave bird food outside a metal bin. :-) Glad it wasn't a serious issue.
