What is the value of a level rig?

Bed rail clearance. Big deal if you camp in more remote areas.

If your trailer has tandem axles (5er or TT or a trailer of any kind), and it's not level, nose high, or nose low, this causes excessive stress on one axle and not on the other.

If your NOSE high, you are placing extra weight on the rear axle and tires.. Reverse that if your butt high . . .

Stopping for a meal? Gas? Movie? Hike? Sleep at a rest stop? Refrigerator is level...no worries

trailer not level when towing puts extra stress on one axle of trailer, AND causes tires on one axle to wear faster than the other, AND has implications with regard to the TV directional stability.

Leveling your 5th wheel does not necessarily improve your bed rail clearance. In the case of leveling from nose-high by lowering your hitch, it reduces your bed rail clearance.

I meant leveling by raising the trailer, which is necessary very often with newer trucks being as high as they are.

When we had the MOR/ryde independent suspension installed on our fiver, I wasked asked if I wanted the trailer raised at all. Since our previous truck (a GMC 2500HD with OEM 20" wheels) was very tall, I asked for 2 inches. I was then able to level the trailer without compromising bed rail clearance. The F350 DRW with 17" wheels sits lower, so now I have PLENTY of bed rail clearance when the trailer is level! Bottom line is that the trailer tows perfectly with the MOR/ryde I.S. and absolutely level.

PIN WEIGHT........

Nose high...lighter pin (can cause chucking in hitch)
Shift on weight t trailers rear axle/tires

Nose low....unnecessary increase in pin weight.
Can overload trucks rear axle/tires if close to ratings

Level tow....
Trailer axle/tires carry equal amounts (give/take floorplan)
Pin weight within margin....20%-25%
Smoother tow

Two things not mentioned so far. Nose high affects fuel mileage.
The bigger issue is how high is your unit after you raise it. I read people on here talking about raising units 4 to 5 inches. There are a lot of bridges where that is not a good idea.
