- jevanbExplorerI put my superglide in myself, if I can install new spars in a aircraft wing or replace large fittings in the structure this will be a piece of cake and it was. Just use the measurements they supply and take your time. Remember, measure 2 times before you put a drill bit on the metal and think 3 steps ahead..

Whoever you pay will install the hitch. There is no one answer. It could be RV dealer, Car dealer, UHAUL, camping world or an independent garage.
It is your money you decide who gets it
True. We bought a Hensley TrailerSaver Fifth Wheel hitch and the dealership where we bought out fifth wheel installed it. - ol_Bombero-JCExplorer

So did I - HOWEVER - if you have followed "Pinikki36" posts and questions...SHE and her DH are newbies to the forums, trucks and trailers.
Kinda like..... "first timers", Capish?
And....Yeah - shame on her for mentioning "cars"..:S
~ - tplifeExplorerThe RV dealers in SoCal wanted around $200.00 to install my EcoHitch 2" receiver on my Prius. U-Haul did it right for $ 60.00.

Best to have the RV dealership install the hitch since they will set the unit up properly for bed rail clearance.
Yikes!
NO - it's *NOT* "best"..:R
Bed rail clearance is important - but it can be adjusted.
A bad hitch installation is *not* "adjustable"!
The RV dealer is an *option* - however many dealers simply "farm out" the installation - and mark it up 20-30% (or more).
Find a reputable hitch installer, talk to them - ask questions.
Same for dealers - ignore the salesperson - talk to whomever does the work.

I discovered that I can go to a hitch dealer, and save a lot of money, plus they know their hitches and will do a good job. Just bought a B&W puck mounted hitch from Young's Hitch in Amarillo. About 30 minutes later I was leaving.
Same experience with my Curt hitch at a hitch and truck accessories dealer in Fort Worth.
I ordered a Curt hitch and installed it on my 2000 Jeep GC, It was cheap ($130 + free shipping) and easy to install. It was a very easy installation, and a great experience as advertised. The hitch installation is a fix for the Jeep gas tank collision (recall) fire issue. I might have one for sale! - jw99Explorer+1 for independent hitch dealers. In the Southeast, Leonard Truck Accessories sells and installs B&W turnover ball hitches for both horse trailers and fifth wheels along with the Companion hitch. They also install Curt fifth wheel hitches. Pick the hitch brand you like and then Google that brand and truck accessories for your area. Just another route if your find Camping World is too busy.

- valhalla360NavigatorIf you haven't bought the RV and Hitch yet, make the dealer install it as part of the deal.
But make it a requirment that the trailer ride level with at least 6" clearance between the bed rails and the overhang. That way if they say don't worry about the truck and trailer matching, it's thier problem to fix.
