Who's got the dealer to actually change the Tires.

I've started the slow search of possibly a new fifth wheel and have been told more than once to make sure the dealer takes the Chinese tires off and replace them with "G" load tires. That what I have on my fifth wheel now and agree all these "E" rated tires should not be on these heavier fifth wheels.

So, of course the dealer will change out the tires if you are willing to pay them to do it but who's getting the dealer to change them to save the deal without raising the cost of the unit.

I tried this with KZ, I talked to the rep about upgrading to 16" tires from 15" on there 265 5er and was told no. So I have to pay for 15" tires and wheels I don't want or not buy the 5er.

Buisness' don't do things for free.

Negotiate it into the deal up front. You will cover the dealers cost to install them.

And even if you think you got the dealer to just throw them into the deal you didn't. You still paid for them.

Number three sounds like the best chance for success. It is way cheaper to pay the difference between cheap and good tires than it is to buy better tires later and also have the expense of fixing the damage the cheap tires caused. JMO

You have 4 choices:

1) Accept the unit as is for the price you agree upon and get different tires yourself after you have possession of the camper.

2) Attempt to negotiate different tires into the deal at the seller's expense. (which probably will not happen, but why not try?) If you don't try, you'll never know.

3) Negotiate for different tires and have the dealer install them, but you pay the dealer for the difference in price.

4) Walk from the entire deal and forget it.

If you really want the camper, you're probably going to have to pay the price. Any modifications you want to make are going to be on your dime. Sorry. It's not really a buyer's market when it comes to RV's. You can negotiate a little, but for the most part, they have to clear a certain amount on their sales too, in order to stay in business. They really do have a "bottom line" they cannot cross over.
