I picked up my trailer from beautiful Perris today. It was ready as they'd promised.
One thing I hadn't fully thought out before I took it in was that the new tongue "A-Frame" meant that everything attached to my tongue would be affected. They were good about putting the batteries back the way they were, etc. The only thing that was a pain (I'm sure WW would agree that it was a pain, but they never complained) was the fact that my Reese Dual Cam WD setup was welded to the frame. They did a good job of cutting off my brackets and welding them onto the new A-Frame.
I haven't had much time to examine everything yet, because I've been on the road most of the day as well as getting ready to leave town tomorrow. What I saw though looked like they did a really good job fixing everything.
The biggest part of the fix was the new A-Frame. The old setup had the two legs of the "A" attached a few (maybe five?) feet behind the front of the box of the trailer. The front of the box provided the cross member for the "A". The new "A" is totally different. Picture an A, but instead of a line connecting the two legs of the A, there's a box enclosing the ends of the legs of the A, continuing around (and outside) the legs of the A, and crossing through the middle of the A. It's lots beefier.
I don't know if this is a generic fix or if this was the solution for mine. All I know is that it appears to have fixed what was wrong with mine. They finished the work on time and they didn't charge me for the repairs.
I can gripe about the fact that it was broken to begin with, but for me the process of getting it fixed was as simple as I could have hoped for. The only thing that would have made it simpler for me would have been if their repair facility wasn't so far away. Can't do anything about that though.
WW had every opportunity to mess this up, especially considering the timing with the holidays. But they didn't. I have my trailer back in one piece in time to leave on our trip tomorrow.
