Sorry to keep asking but i like to do extensive research and dont believe salesmen. How are the forest River xlr's in comparison to the heartland's, dutchman's, and keystone's? Does forest river make a decent product? TIA

So far so good with my XLR. No major issues other than a basic LED awning light to be replaced as it was no longer sitting flat in it's track and wire issue to rear loading lights.

Still pretty new to me though. So far would buy again

We have a 2013 27hfs, we have had a few minor issues, they all have their bugs. Overall we are happy with the product, and would purchase another.

We have an XLR Viper toy hauler and have been pleased with the design. XLR made changes to the unit we order such as changing the rear bed type from a Murphy bed to a happi-jac bed, moved the postion of the rear side door, and changed the window shades. I agree that the quality of service you get after the sale is very important.

I recommend you find the floor plan that suits you best and buy that toy hauler.

I've been coast to coast with my 395AMP with over 10k miles on the tires. As with all things made by man I've had a few small items come up but nothing I would attribute to a poor manufacturer process but third party defects.

We have own a Dutchmen and a Keystone Springdale and now a Keystone Outback. We have been very pleased with all 3 trailers. I think, today's campers, especially the brands you've identified are pretty much equal. I think the real difference is the follow-up service you get from your dealer in the event of a problem, and more important, when your camper goes out of warranty.

Personally, we've never had any problems with service for any of our campers. But by far, the last dealership we used, when we bought the Outback, far out shines the other 3 (pop-up included).

I feel confident that Dutchmen / Keystone are adequately good products and their manufacturers do stand behind their products. And I honestly cannot compare with any other brand since I've never owned anything else. I think the problem so many have are with their individual local dealerships, not the manufacturer or warranty services.

All brands being equal ... (um ... my opinion ... get an Outback! ... real wood, good quality, and they are having a strong come-back in sales after a few years of slump.)

I had a silverback before my voltage and it was a great trailer. I almost ordered a xlr but the floor plan of the voltage was why I switched.

Good luck

This is definitely going to be an opinion question and everyone's experience will vary.

Every Forest River camper we've owned (3) have been outstanding. I'd highly recommend them and would love to own an XLR. The only Heartland product we've owned was a 2011 Cyclone. It was a piece of junk and dealing with Heartland was terrible.

No experience with Keystone or Dutchmen.

I think having a great dealer is just as important. The one we deal with primarily, helped us keep our sanity when we went through our Cyclone nightmare. After the Cyclone, we bought from them again and hope to continue to do so.
