I'm not buying that explanation in the case of Florida state parks. They are going to stay open for day use. If they can stay open during the day, they could allow overnighters. If they can't keep the place maintained for overnighters, they can't do it for "day trippers" either. I think they're just doing something so they can say they're doing something without really thinking about what the best solutions are. Typical government.
Seriously, you want to ask a government employed maintenance personnel to expose themselves, and probably their family, to the virus so you can have your picnic?
You're missing the point. They're staying open during the day so they are exposing their employees to some risk. If they can stay open for day visitors they could let the overnight campers stay, too.- edatlantaExplorerI am currently a host at a COE Campground and we are completely closed indefinitely. The hosts here are allowed to stay during this period, but we are definitely quarantined. It is QUIET here with zero campers and the gate locked.

If they are open for day use...how is opening for overnight exposing them?
A lot of the govt reactions are just so they can say they did something. - Yosemite_Sam1Explorer

- Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIStone Mountain GA campground is open. The attractions are closed but that's OK. There's really no reason to close any campground as it's likely some of the best social separation available. Open air and long distances are exactly what stops this virus! Book it online, wave HI as you go by, pull into your site and light a campfire. Just doesn't get any better than that.
As a side note, I mention Stone Mountain as I "had" reservations there arriving next Monday. Things at work went completely sideways with this disaster and I could not leave work. Stone Mountain refunded my reservation fee without hesitation and we hope to visit again as soon as things stabilize in the next couple of weeks. - arhayesExplorerThe RV Resort we are currently at in Tucson is still open and in-taking new arrivals. However all classrooms, activities, gyms, or indoor meeting places are closed except for the Laundry and Showers/Bathrooms. Our next scheduled stop in Las Vegas is also still open.
The military Fam Camps cancelled our friends April reservations, so as others have said you may find state and federal facilities closed, but most private ones will be open. - BB_TXNomadPrivate RV parks will likely remain open. But government operated local, state, federal, and COE parks probably not.
I just got an email that our favorite COE park is closed, my reservation canceled, and my deposit refunded. :(
