I just got this from the blogger who sez...
I don't want to be a Texan. I want good health insurance, and I'm gonna get it.
I wrote back: Wanting to be a Texan has nothing to do with anything... It just explains why you can only have one state as your domicile. What do you not understand about this statement?
If you are newly full-timing and in your wallet you can find references to more than one state, e.g., driver license from state A, vehicle registration from state B, mailing address in state C, insurance in state D, voter registration in state E, etc., you have a problem that should be addressed immediately.
Penalties and fines levied by states are so onerous that no one should even consider attempting to use several states for their individual benefits. The highest judgment heard about to date: $123,000 plus two years of community service.
Two years of community service puts a crimp in the full-timing lifestyle
And what happens when you file your first claim, when they find out you lied about your domicile.
I understand that you want good health Ins. We all want that, but the way you are trying to do it is illegal.
If you are in denial, on how to do that, go for it, but it will come back to haunt you.
Why don't you check the ACA for your legal domicile in SD.
