Well, as a matter of fact, I do remember. As a midwestern kid, living in the upper story of a mostly uninsulated two-story house w/o AC during the summer.
We really NEEDED air conditioning then. We just didn't have it.
Have no desire to turn back the clock in order to satisfy someone's odd belief that suffering creates character.
I also don't want to start growing my own crops.
But if you'd like to . . . hey, go for it.
