The house is sold (closing Jan 29) and we're ready to go but need to establish an address. Does anyone have a suggestion for a mail forwarding service in Wyoming? We had intended to use S. Dakota but don't want to drive there in midwinter. We are close to the Wyo border and would like to use one there but don't find that seems to be interested in RVs.

Thanks for the info. TenOC, have you ever had trouble from having your vehicle tags from one state and your drivers licence in another? Wyo Traveler, I understand what you are saying about driving in Wyo but I am in northern Colorado and Cheyenne is 45 min. drive and between me and S. D.

You can establish your address with a forwarding company but wait until good weather to start changing your license and tags - unless they're expiring now. Think of it as being on a vacation. Sure you can drive in other states with different tags or licenses. Millions of folks do it. They don't stay in their own states. They travel.

In a couple months when weather improves go to your state of choice and start switching over.

Check with a UPS Store. They give you a personal mailbox (not a post office box) that is a physical address. They have information on their website.

You need to do your homework picking a home address. WY has no state income tax but is pretty high on RV taxes. Driving to WY In mid winter? I think SD would have been a better choice. Don't misunderstand, I love WY but if I were to FT again I'd change to SD in a minute for the savings on RV taxes. Plus, no where in WY that I know of to set up a residence to FT without having a permanent stick house.

You should check your Travel Photos Link. I clicked on it and low and behold a bunch of my photos popped up. Then I called my son and he clicked on it and a bunch of his photos showed up. Apparently it is a bad link. Let me know what you find out. I am curious. It apparently is taking people to their own google photos.

I'm not a computer tech type so I dont know much but it may be doing that because you are logged into your google account. When I click on his link it just opens a google page with an option near the top right to click on photos. When I click on it, it asks me to log into Goggle. When I log in I see an old photo of mine. When I log out and go back to his link on here I now see my email address in the sign in box. Google never stops tracking

Edit: I shut my computer off and came back in and now when I go to his link my email log in name isn't showing as should be.

Are you 65 or older and have Medicare...........IF not SD is NOT the state to use as domicile anymore due to lack of out of state medical coverage.
Is it time for your medication or mine?

You do NOT need to drive to SD. You can set up "domicile" without driving to the state. I need a SD address for my investments to stop paying State Income taxes on the investments. You will need to spend a night in the state to get a driving license. But you can set up domicile with car tags and as your Federal Tax state etc by mail.

Google domicile. It is the state you "call home". I use My Home Address because it is in a small town. I used SD for my domicile (tax address) for a number of years before I was in SD (for a few nights) to get my new driving license.
Please give me enough troubles, uncertainty, problems, obstacles and STRESS so that I do not become arrogant, proud, and smug in my own abilities, and enough blessings and good times that I realize that someone else is in charge of my life.

I hope you've got all the bills possible online. Paper mail is a real hassle.
