I usually dry camp so I make fry bread, on a Colemen stove and griddle, some times on an open fire. Once the bread is made I use it for pizza, or taco/fajita type meals. It also makes a nice desert if you fry it in a pan with butter or olive oil, it bubbles up and sugar and cinnamon sticks to it well. If camping with my GS or other kids I will make the dough and roll it into a long roll then wrap it around the end of a 1 in dia stick and cook it on an open fire. I stuff the inside with jelly. The kids like it. I learned this from some Navajo women in Az. I also learned how to may Bannack from an Ojibway Indian lady in Canada. I used olive oil instead of lard and Splenda instead of sugar and added raisins, it came out good. I don't have a bread machine.
