The model we're looking at for our 1st coach for fulltiming is an Itasca Sunova 35G, which is a bit tight around the bed with the king bed option. Where to put my CPAP machine? I was wondering about maybe stashing it in the overhead compartment and using a hole saw through the cabinet bottom to drop the hose and power cord (since there doesn't appear to be an outlet inside the cabinet). Figured I might pretty it up a bit with one of those computer desktop plastic inserts. Anybody tried this?

Your idea might work, but remember that the cpack will need some air circulation in order for it to work. That air you breathe has to come from somewhere.

I place mine on the floor at my side of the bed.... plenty of air circulation , and plenty of room . . . plus when not in use , it is out of the way...Joe

Mine is on the floor....very little space, but it's there. The "intake vent" (or whatever you call it) is facing out so I get fresh air. Mine has a humidifier with water in it. Do NOT place one of these overhead. :) :) Why??? Because you'll drown!!!! Seriously, the moisture builds up inside the tubing and will drain down onto your face. :) :) Yeah, happened to me!!!!!One other: The electric cord is a smidgen too short to reach the outlet....which is in the ceiling. I have a little wooden "stand" that was for a totally different purpose.....but is wonderful for sitting the machine on it. It's sorta like a mini side table (Super MINI)

As amandasgramma said.Makes sense to me, although I don't use a humidifier. Appears that even with the King bed there are night stands on either side of the bed, albeit small. Think I'd figure out a way to utilize one of those areas as best you can. CPAP's aren't they fun !!!! :Z

Consider also adding a couple of 12 volt batteries for those nights you will not be tied to commercial power. CPAP uses quit a bit of battery and if you add it to your existing supply/load you will likely be woken up by the gas alarm low voltage at the end of your first night,,,for sure during your second night.I had room under the bed to install mine which made a short 12 volt cable which is good.Love my CPAP, won't leave home without itpops

Thank you. I use the Humidifier during the winter months and off and on summer months. My pressure is 8. So I think I am good with your amps/volts.

My Respironics System One 60 Series uses about 2.5 amps on 12.6 volts dc. I do use a humidifier and my pressure is 11.5 cmH2O.

I am working on the total amps I use per day/night for the solar system. I am only working on the plan. What is the amps used for a cpap?

I just got a new one from the VA Resmed s9 vpap auto and its the best machine I ever had I sleep like a baby with it. Ditto on the humidifier. I was a little nervous of changing brands but thing is great. Waiting now on a 12 v dc cord for the rv.

I got my 12Vdc cord and carrying case for all at the same time... What a nice setup..
Also , I had to get re certified for my CDL Medical Card.. They are now checking for apnea.. All I had to do was take the SD card out of the machine , run it over to the center , they downloaded all my info and I was done..

I just upgraded to the ResMed S-9... It is night and day over what I was using... It also detaches the humidifier incase I want to travel lighter without it... I do so when flying for business.... Automatic airflow , just put the mask on and take a breath...

I just got a new one from the VA Resmed s9 vpap auto and its the best machine I ever had I sleep like a baby with it. Ditto on the humidifier. I was a little nervous of changing brands but thing is great. Waiting now on a 12 v dc cord for the rv.

I changed from Respironics Quattro masks (both old and new) to the Fisher Paykel mask which eliminated the exhaust air issue for my wife. It is quieter, easier to fit, and easier to clean. It does whistle on occasion, but I found on-line about a fix. It seems that the small exhaust holes may not have been cast perfectly, and there are small flanges at the edge of the holes. I used a very small drill bit to fix the problem.

Yes the unit I have has an auto mode where it determines a pressure setting it calculates using an algorithm Respironics developed. I no longer use that mode though, just a set pressure of 11.5 inches H2O. The data is old and my AHI for the last six months is now 1.32.
