If you have experience with dental work in Mexico...help me!

I've read on several blogs of people going over the border for dental work, being pleased and saving lots of money. I visited a dentist in East Texas yesterday and he gave me a proposed treatment plan that includes 4 root canal therapies, and 4 porcelain crowns for a cost of $8800. I'm interested in shopping that service, while not cutting the service.

I believe Clinica Rubio is one of the few who take plastic. But use the "contact us" button and ask to make sure. Glad you like it, we did a lot of research before choosing that dentist.

We've had lots of dental work done in Mexico and have been really impressed each time.

If you are in Yuma, go to San Luis and see Dr. Bernal. Walk across the border and not far in on the other side you'll see a large tooth statue and a sign "Family Dental"

My husband got a porcelain crown there for $130. We walked in off the street at 4:00 pm on Friday and he had the new crown installed shortly after noon the next day (Saturday!).

His lab is across the street from his office, so the service is very fast.

While there, we met a large group from Las Vegas that rents a car every year and gathers all their friends and family together to drive down to Dr. Bernal and get all their dental work done. I wrote a magazine article about our experience… I would go back in a heartbeat.

My other favorite Mexican dentist is down in Zihuatanejo… a little far by RV but great if you are flying in for a beach vacation!!

Go halfway down this page, it's called "A Mexican Crown"

As to a fistfull of dollars...you don't feel uncomfortable carrying so much money on you? How do you handle it?
No problem carrying money anywhere as long as other don't know it, and if you can't lose $10 don't carry that much. My wife in Fla. 20 years ago put her bag down under the front seat of the car, we went over the bank to the sea, when we returned they had found it and take $650, that life be more careful, move on.
So big a world, so little time to see.

That is exactly why I'm shopping price...when I find the dentist I will visit...the first thing I want is a second opinion....do you agree?

Here's the one the hubby and I use: Dr Rubio

Hubby has over 20 fillings, about half were replacements for the metal fillings he got while in the service. He also had three crowns. Total was less than $2k, and this is one of the most expensive clinics in the area. We are both very satisfied with the work.

We use dentist in either Algodones, near Yuma, or La Paloma, near Columbus NM. Have been very satisfied with their work and now the ONLY reason we visit an American dentist is for annual cleaning, which our employer provides for.

For a comparison, here is the price list for Dr marquez the dentist we use in Algodones.
