I found Progressive and GMAC to be extremely high. I currently have Nationwide-I have had them for years. Make sure your coverage's are right. Some do not cover your awning unless you add it-etc.
I currently have progressive and when I insured our mh, thay asked me the purchase price. I believe that if I totaled my mh they would settle the loan for the amount and not give me fair market value(KBB/ NADA value). I'm curently in the market for an insurance company that will pay book and not loan. Stay away from Progressive
One of the many reasons we don't want to buy another new RV. GMAC jacked our rates up really high at renewal time when we bought the 2009. So far Progressive (thru AON) has gone down nearly every year on the RV, but up on the F450 so outgo has been level.
We've also had Nat'l Interstate (also through AON). I'm waiting to see how high it is this fall, cause we may get new quotes come September to see if we can save a few $$$'s.
There are other brokers besides AON who can give you multiple quotes. That makes it easier to decide whether to switch or stay.
Hard for me to believe the prices some are claiming for full timers insurance. Could it be some are adding rig to homeowner policies, I.e. not relevant to full timers forum?
Hi all, Just got mine from GS/National Interstate ins. Was very happy with the price and the package. 175.00 a year for full. This is only the rv. Had GEICO before to pricey. almost double. I thought I would have trouble doing my RV being a 1997 KZ sportsman 25'
We have been with State Farm, for 28 years, same agent. Withe the house, when we had one and all our vehicles. Even several of the kids stayed with him after they left the "NEST"! Couldn't do any good when we starte RVING. Aent as much said STATE FARM wasn't in the game for RV'S. Just bought a Winnie 2013 40U had to go to. Progressive. Pick it on Fri.
My State Farm agent ( for our car) said that as full-timers they could not insure the MH.?? WE now use Good Sam/GMAC. for three years now and am quite happy!
State Farm. Still can't believe how low my policy is on the MH.
IMHO too many people being sucked into all the advertisement for these new e-insurance companies. Which btw most are actually the 4 basic insurance companies promoting e-insurance under a different name and charging more. Read the fine print at the bottom if you can. You will see one of them is All State!
Progressive, Geico were nothing more than underwriters for high risk drivers. They added a Gecko and goofy woman and blasted ads all over and people went running to them. Their rates are high.
When progressive doubled my premium after one year, I had a minor claim for $1,004.00. the second day I was insured. I switched to Geico. Glad I did! They were trying to get there money back.
