RV Insurance

Bumpy is right. Not telling your ins co what you are doing is a good way to cause you some really bad issues.......

Full timers insurance is definitely different than regular RV insurance. It should actually cover your RV more like homeowners insurance and include full timer liability, full replacement on the RV and contents, coverage for things like awning and satellite dishes...just to name a few.

Regular insurance companies want nothing to do with these types of coverges. You need an RV specialty insurer...we just recently switched from fulltimer coverage with GMAC to Blue Sky. Blue Sky more than cut our premium in half and actually gave us better coverage.

Shop around and be sure who you choose truly understands fulltime RV coverage.

It does make a difference! State Farm dropped us like a Hot Potatoe when they found out we were full timing! This after over 40yrs with them for house,cars, and Life ins.
If you don't tell them you may have a claim and not be covered once they do find out!

You may want to call Farm and City Insurance in Forest City, Iowa even if you decided not to change your insurances. They will explain the difference in coverages and let you choose. They are non pressure, no obligation agency and VERY knowledgeable.

since your status has changed, be honest with your insurance agent. false representation could have dire consequences.

One of the differences between fulltiming insurance and regular is that fulltimers includes liability coverage. Ordinarily you would have that with your homeowners but in our case, our trailer is our home. We also have National Interstate and have had no issues with them.
