When we go fulltiming again (hopefully within 90 days) we may base in South Dakota. I would appreciate recommendations on mail forwarding services who understand fulltimers and the South Dakota residency issues for fulltimers. Any other associated advice appreciated. Thanks to all.

You might also check your auto insur prices for SD...checked on mine and prices went up quite a bit because of the hail storms/damage that they have in SD. Not saying ya or na but its something to look at also.

I had a problem with Americas Mailbox, they lost over $350 worth of my mail. I can verify they received it via USPS. But then it goes missing. When I asked then about their internal audit to show when it left, how and who handle it, guess what? No auditing done so it's my problem I'm out of the checks and items sent. Now I use MyDakota Address- they audit and track. You may never need it but when you do it makes all the difference.

Full timing isn't "always camping". It's a different life style living in an RV.

I have had no problems with AR since the ownership change as they use the same folks as before.

Also as an FYI AR is changing to Dakotapost and is now the official mail handler for FMCA and as such the rates for FMCA members is a little less. They are also moving to a new location because they got bigger and ran out of room.

We have been with Alternative Resources in Sioux Falls, for over 8 years and
have never had a problem with them. Would highly recommend.

It has a few options.

Alternative Resources here. We have been with them since 2002. All services are available through them.

We chose Americas Way for no other reason than we where in Rapid City and our travel plans would not take us any further East.
They certainly did the job and they do send the mail, but I am getting a bit tired of the never ending "you should not do this or that" emails or comments. It's certainly a learning curve and we only moved from FL to SD in July (wish I had known about FL mail residency options!) but the scoldings still come like I was in school.
I may still take another look at FL in the near future as it appears to have the same benefits without the higher expenses and reprimands.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

We used My Dakota Address when we were fulltiming a couple of years ago. Bought a new truck once and sent the paperwork to Teri, and a short time later got the tags in the mail. Never a problem.
Planning to fulltime again in a couple of years and will be making a call to her again.

We use MyDakotaAddress. Terri is wonderful. There is a state park right on the outskirts of Madison, SD that we use when we are in the area.

We have been with them for 11 years.

Going on 9 years with Alternative Resources, very happy with them and don't plan to change anytime soon. They keep us posted as what is in our "mailbox" on a daily basis and we've used them for vehicle titles and registrations. Great people to work with. Also our RV and toad insurance agent is in the same building.

I used them for 10 years and they were flawless. A plus, they can refer you to an insurance agent, banker, and lawyer who know and understand the full time life style. They also will register your vehicles for you, and refer you to several RV Parks in town whose address will work for voter registration. The driver's license station is next door, and they will navigate you through the new Homeland Security requirements to obtain your driver's license.

Remember, it is not just about your mail. It is about establishing legal residency.
