Planning just ruins a trip for us. Last winter we wandered around Arizona for 2 1/2 months without any reservations and never had an issue finding a place. If one was full, we moved on. We stopped at one place for 2 days and stayed for 10. Met so many friendly people and had so much fun we couldn't leave. If we had reservations all that would be out the window. To each his own. It doesn't work for everyone.
