What is your Christmas Full-Time RV'ing Miracle?

In keeping with the Christmas Spirit and something positive what is your Christmas Full-Time RV'ing Miracle?
  • My Christmas Miracle- my in-laws stayed with us (wife, 2 kids, and I) and felonies were committed.
  • We were camped at Lake Lavon - East Fork COE park - on Dec 26. The tornado went about 2 miles east of us.

One RV park in Garland was hit hard. Some of our Good Sam group friend had the back wall of their home taken off, and their RV garage destroyed, though the DP was not damaged.

No one hurt in either place.
  • Maybe not a Christmas specific miracle…

Maybe it’s not even a miracle but I don’t know what else to call it. Last May I was in San Marcos TX at a friend’s property living in my RV and replacing its engine. My friend had warned me that there’d been past flooding in the area with up to 3’ of flood water flooding the property in the past. I was half ways through my engine replacement when devastating floods hit the San Marcos area with the nearby Blanco River cresting at +27’ ABOVE flood stage! A small RV park I’d stayed at 2 years earlier about a quarter mile down the road flooded out and several large diesel pushers at an RV park along the Blanco River were swept away but somehow the flooding missed me. Two days later Mother Nature made another run at the area but the brunt of that flooding hit to the east of me. The only thing that makes any sense to me was my late wife Gail was up in heaven whispering in Gods ear to cut me some slack. My honey was always very persuasive!

Flood water rushing by my RV while it sits on a slightly elevated concrete slab. Notice the adjoining elevated house.

A rescue helicopter landed in the road in front of my site. The highway farther down was underwater.

  • We shared Christmas with our dear RV friends from Nova Scotia for the fourth
time at Stephen Foster State Park in Winter Spring, FL. This friendship started
in 2006--our first year as full-timers--at Traveler's Rest, SC. We both had the
same brand motorhomes and the friendship and meetings on the road have been many
We will be visiting them this summer in Nova Scotia!
  • My miracle is almost 6 years old. In 3 months my DH will be 6 years out on his HEART TRANSPLANT. For 3 years before that it was a day to day thing to wonder if he would be alive the next day. For the last 6 months he was on intravenous meds at home to keep him alive.

I retired a year ago from 40 years of nursing and we have been FTing for about 8 months now. I never thought it would ever happen.

We are so thankful for God's gift and that of the 34 y/o young man that lost his life in an industrial accident and his family!
  • After getting me up at 4 a.m. my hound jumped back into bed and went back to sleep. We snuggled/slept until 7.

Miricle #2: She came when I called her in the dog park.
  • My Christmas miracle is waking up next to my best friend, my sweet husband, and getting to share every day with him.

We pursued the full time dream for so long, and achieved it, at a very young age, and have learned over the last year, to never take a single breath for granted.

    Merry Christmas everyone.
  • It's not Christmas specific, but we feel blessed each day that we were able to retire a little early and become fulltimers. Every day is something new and a gift for us.

    Merry Christmas!
