which way

We are planning to put the house up for sale in June and hopefully go on the road right after. Our goal is to travel for about a year and move to a house in the Carolinas after that. My question is/any recommendations on where to cross the Mississippi river to go out west. We are still working on places to go and things to see. Any ideas are always welcome/thanks

In the spring Tom Sawyer RV park is indeed "right in the river." :B
  • Take secondary/backroads as much as possible and see the country.....Interstates are for weekenders/vacationers.

  • Begin around first of October slowly go I-95 south; I-20 west; beginning around April-May slowly go I-5 north; June-July begin I-80 east. Make zig-zag loops right and left from each Interstate Highway.
  • Lacrosse,Wi., Prarie Du Chien, Is. Memphis ,Tn great campground in W. Memphis , Tom Sawyer camp ground.

Been once will go back this fall!
Sure there are more, but these are the ones we have used.
  • First decide where you want to stay during the winter? Texas? Florida? Arizona?

Once you establish that, meander that way, taking your time, from July to October or November.
