Also there is another Hot Springs ( Ainsworth Hot Springs ) about 10 or 12 miles south east of Kaslo on Hwy 31. They have a cave you can swim through. Back when we were kids there were no lights in the cave. Another 15 minutes south east of Ainsworth Hot Springs is another ferry ( Kootenay Lake Ferry) this ferry is the longest free ferry ride in the world. Even if you don’t continue on Hwy 3-A towards Creston BC. A back and forth trip on the ferry is well worth the views. You can also do Day Hikes up Kokanee Glacier. Easiest access is from the Nelson side off Hwy 3-A. You don’t want to take your trailer up to the parking lot as the road is gravel and parking space is limited. There is also a zip line up that road, however I haven’t done that, but have lots of friends that have. Also look up Cody Caves, I think they are open again during the summer, but you will have to heck that’s out yourself.
Tons more stuff to keep the kids and mom and dad busy.
