2004 F53 6.8L V-10 Catalytic Converter Replacement

I own a 2004 Forest River Georgetown Class A motorhome on a Ford F53 chassis with 6.8L V-10 engine. Last week, while it was at the dealership for service, someone cut off the OEM catalytic converter (P/N 4C3Z5E212FA), and now I need a replacement. However, Ford doesn't make it anymore. I need help to find an alternate part that maintains the same flow characteristics of the original. I installed a Bank Power Pack on it a few years ago and need to maintain the same flow capability. Can anyone give me a lead on who makes replacements for the F53? All my Google searches have done nothing more than verify that the original pat is discontinued. Really need some help here. Thanks.

Just to clear the air regarding my dealer, they really have been nothing but good to me for the 11 years I've owned the MH. I'm not putting this on them. They do have security, but if some good-for-nothing really wants to steal, they will find a way. Insurance will cover the replacement, just need to find a good part to do it with.

Mike,
It always amazes me how many perfect strangers will go out of their way to try to help.
You've got a 2004 and the part is already discontinued? Not too impressive to say the least!
Hope you get this sorted out.

WAIT A MINUTE! You said the unit was at the dealer when the converter was stolen. That's the dealers responsibility to repair the damage while in his possession. Talk to the manager and tell him to find a replacement converter. That is all you need to do. Not hunt around for one yourself. If the dealer gives you a hard time call a lawyer.

LOL on that one the lawyer will cost u more than a cheap converter will

Have you tried the auto wrecking yards? What is the government policy if one is not available? Catalytic converters have long been a high theft item.

Why isn't the dealership replacing it?

I had a similar situation with a dealership. They replaced the part after I went down and got the paperwork for small claims court and asked the manager how to spell his name for the paperwork. He admitted they could bluff out 98% of the people with the old we're not responsible for loss, theft or damage sign.

Sorry, don't know anything about the site or a fair price for the part.

I replied because they said that they have the part in stock and you said that ALL your Google searches indicated that the part was discontinued. I assumed you hadn't seen this one.

Good luck finding what you need ... at a fair price.

Yes I did. The $1650 price seems out of line and I didn't trust the site. Do you know anything about this site?
