2006 sprinter not starting

My 2006 ltv sprinter not starting two days in a row. Battery is good but key won't engage the starting process. Yesterday it started after I reinserted key and jiggled the shifter. Today 3 people failed to start it. Was towed and works in the garage. Any ideas? Ignition or starter? Thanks.
  • Fortunately I am near a dealership but I am reluctant to head down to Big Bend until the problem is resolved.
  • sounds like bad starter to me. check for loose battery cables or corroded cables too
  • Sounds like moisture may be causing the problem, it dries out, circuit closes, then runs fine. Can be hard to pin point, but I would check the wires for Rodent damage.
  • Might have a loose or poor connection somewhere.
    Probably real hard to find.

  • Mercedes can't find anything wrong and tested everything. It works great in the garage. We are leaving it outside overnight to get cold and test again in the morning. I am at a nice hotel. The dealership is great outside St Louis. Thanks for your suggestions.
