I need to replace/repair the exhaust manifold on my Onan NHE genset in our 88 Limited. Is there a way to swing the genset down or does it have to be removed to get at the backside of the engine? I have looked at the compartment and there is an angle bracket at the rear that would appear to support the swing down idea but I thought it best to ask to see if anybody knows for sure.
Already ordered and received replacement Onan parts for the generator. Manifold, gaskets, etc., totaled about $400. Generator is back in and running fine and quiet.
Had the generator removed and found that the exhaust manifold was broken in half due to a blown tag axle tire that hit the exhaust pipe right behind it. Genset had to be lowered using a floor jack and removing the support beams under the genset.
