- MrWizardModeratorI haven't heard of anything,
Would be engineering and mfg costs for a limited market

You gain nothing
Its possible the increase drag/load of the regenerative braking charging system would have the RV using more fuel and cost more,, than the cost of having the vehicle charged normally - lryrob9301ExplorerNo there are no electric vehicles that can be towed 4 down, most all can be towed on a dolly however. As to the charging issue this is advertising hype, none will charge while being towed, they all have to be in run mode to charge while coasting. Since manufacturers loose money on everyone they build and there is so very little demand for toads in the first place and given electrics limited operating range, I don't think you'll see any change in the electric vehicle market.

Problem is, it would quickly over charge. - Ralph_CramdenExplorer II

Any electric vehicles out there that can beflat towed and charge themselves while being towed? If not there should be! It could be possible and what a convenience! I would buy one tomorrow, Bob
Yes, sure is. But you need a few miles of extension cord for the recharging while towing it. - ecampbellExplorerand the Prius is the most un green vehicle there is.
the batteries from old cars are still exported to Asia where they are dumped into the ocean. - wa8yxmExplorer IIIAs someone said the "Charge on down hill" or regeneratife braking is only when the unit is being operated as a CAR not when it's a trailer
I do not know why they can not be towed. I can think of several possible reasons and some of them could be fixed for less than $5.00 at the factory.. but alas I truly do not know why they can not be towed. - MrWizardModeratorLink to info to prove this claim ?
I don't like unsubstantiated claims
In posts being made to derail topic,
Your statement has nothing to do with the OP questionand the Prius is the most un green vehicle there is.

LOL, its an RV forum. Pretty easy to find this, is it true? or is it Memorex? Or is it the Kinbursky Brothers? I think I know those guys, we went to different schools together.
"Regardless of what the owner chooses, expired battery packs aren’t wasted, thanks to a battery recycling program Toyota launched in 2010.
After being removed, the battery pack is sent to specialist recycling firm Kinsbursky Brothers in Anaheim, California -- the same firm responsible for recycling used lithium-ion battery packs from Tesla.
On arrival at the specialized facility, battery packs are broken down into their constituent parts, with nickel being smelted down for stainless steel used in making refrigerator doors, while rare-earth elements, plastic casings and electrolyte are all recycled into appropriate industries." - gboppExplorer

If you tow it backwards will it drain the battery? :B
